Dukes of Hazzard Reunion Set
Want to take a road trip? If you’re a hard-core fan of the television show the “Dukes of Hazzard,” then you’ll want to head to Sperryville, Virginia the weekend of August 13th and 14th to catch the “Hazzard Homecoming” – a two day festival celebrating all things Hazzard.
“Hazzard Homecoming” will reunite many of your favorite cast members: John Schneider (Bo Duke); Ben Jones (Cooter); Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke); James Best (Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane); Sonny Shroyer (Deputy Enos Strate); and Rick Hurst (Deputy Cletus Hogg) who will all be available to sign autographs.
The two-day extravaganza will also feature country, bluegrass and gospel music featuring Grammy nominee T. Graham Brown, bluegrass icon Dr. Ralph Stanley with the Clinch Mountain Boys and Cooter’s Garage Band.
The kids will enjoy a bounce room, water slide, a climbing wall, face painting and pony rides. Kids of all ages will enjoy the car show featuring over 75 General Lees plus Hazzard police cars, Daisy’s Road Runner, Boss Hogg’s Cadillac and Uncle Jesse’s and Cooter’s trucks.
Ben “Cooter” Jones and his wife Alma Viator will be hosting the event close to their home in Rappahannock County. They own two “Dukes” museums and shops – “Cooter’s Place” – in Gatlinburg and Nashville, Tennessee where tickets can be purchased or go to www.cootersplace.com (or call 615-872-8358).
Ticket information: Children 10 and under, Seniors 65 and over and military with an ID are free. Tickets are $15 for one day and $20 for both days.
“Hazzard Homecoming” will be at the Thornton Hill Hounds Raceway, 4137 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville, Virginia. Gates open at 9 AM on Saturday and 9:30 AM on Sunday.
