Club Notes for Aug. 7
The Noccalula-Rainbow City Civitans met July 5 at the Rainbow City Community Center. Seven members were present. Charles Pullin, president, presided.
Pullin spoke to the group on the various club projects that are done and gave suggestions how to improve some. Another wheelchair ramp has been requested and the ramp committee, headed by the Rev. Wade Talley, will pursue it.
The Alabama North Convention will be in August in Huntsville. Frances Moore is chairman of the event.
The new club officers will be installed at the September meeting.

Gadsden Music Club
Melody Junior Music Club recently presented piano students in recital at the Hardin Center. Performing were Mackenzie Street, Alston Hicks, Brandon Hicks, Nicole Hicks, Blake Hicks, Brittni Little, Alyssa Garmon, Stacey Garmon, Brenna Garmon and Lawren Brianna Ware. Judy Hicks is their teacher/counselor and is a National Certified Teacher of Music.
The Gadsden Music Club sponsors the Melody JMC, which entitles students to enter the Alabama Federation of Music Clubs festival sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs.
Brittni Little earned her second consecutive Superior Certificate in theory and piano solo. She received her first Gold Cup in American Patriotic and Folk Songs.
Alyssa Garmon earned her 10th consecutive Superior Certificate in hymn playing and was awarded her third Gold Cup in piano solo. Brenna Garmon earned her third Gold Cup in hymn playing in piano solo. Alyssa and Brenna Garmon earned their second Gold Cup in piano duet after receiving six consecutive Superior Certificates in piano duet.
Stacey Garmon earned her third Silver Cup in piano solo and her fifth consecutive Superior Certificate in hymn playing. Alyssa, Brenna and Stacey Garmon were awarded their first Gold and Silver Cups in Piano Trio after earning three consecutive Superior Certificates in piano trio.
Alston Hicks earned his first Superior Certificate in hymn playing. Brandon Hicks earned his second Superior Certificate in hymn playing. Blake Hicks earned his first Gold Cup in hymn playing. Nicole Hicks earned her first Gold Cup in hymn playing and piano solo.
Lawren Brianna Ware earned her 10th consecutive Superior Certificates in hymn playing and piano solo.She won first place in the composition of piano in his age group in Alabama Federation of Music Clubs.
