Imperial Oil megaloads set to move this weekend
LEWISTON, Idaho - Two shipments of oilfield equipment headed to an oil sands project in northern Alberta are scheduled to leave the Port of Lewiston this weekend.
The Lewiston Tribune reports the Idaho Transportation Department has given Imperial Oil permission for two oversized loads to travel from Lewiston north via U.S. Highway 95 to Coeur d'Alene and east via Interstate 90, arriving at the Idaho/Montana border over Lolo Pass.
One load is scheduled to leave at 10 p.m. Saturday and the second 24 hours later.
ITD spokesman Adam Rush says the loads are about 17 ½ feet wide, 14 feet tall and 76 feet long. Idaho State Police troopers will accompany the transports on the 175-mile trips.
The larger so-called megaloads had traveled west on U.S. Highway 12, crossing into Montana at Lolo Pass.

Are we really closing out July already? This month always seems to go by too quickly, and here we are just now getting nice summery weather for the first time this year. Personally I'm looking forward to doing a lot of camping and fishing over the next month before winter sets in again!
