Britney Spears Earns Third Top 20 Single From 'Femme Fatale': Chart Moves

-- Britney Spears: Three singles deep into her former Billboard 200 No.1 album "Femme Fatale," Spears is showing no signs of slowing down, as "I Wanna Go" rises 22-17 in its fifth week. The song bounds 22-11 on Hot Digital Songs (86,000 downloads sold, up 7%, according to Nielsen SoundScan) and 36-29 on Hot 100 Airplay (40 million in all-format audience, up 19%, according to Nielsen BDS). With the first two singles from "Femme" having reached Nos. 1 and 3 ("Hold It Against Me" and "Till the World Ends") respectively, Spears has racked a trio of top 20 hits from each of her last two studio sets; 2008's "Circus" yielded "Womanizer" (No. 1), the title cut (No. 3) and "If U Seek Amy" (No. 19). Her only other album to manage the feat? Her 1999 debut "...Baby One More Time," which generated the No. 1 title track, "(You Drive Me) Crazy" (No. 10) and "From the Bottom of My Broken Heart" (No. 14). (She almost scored four top 20 hits from that set; second single "Sometimes" peaked at No. 21). -- Maroon 5 featuring Christina Aguilera: With NBC's "The Voice" having wrapped its first season, "Moves Like Jagger," which premiered on the series' June 21 episode, plummets 23-62 after debuting at No. 8 two weeks ago. The song drops by 60% in digital sales to 45,000. Still, airplay is building, as the track enters Adult Top 40 at No. 33 (up 84%). -- Adele: Last week, Eminem's "Recovery" became the first album to sell 1 million downloads in the U.S. and this week, Adele's "21" also hits that mark. The set, which was released on Feb. 22, becomes the U.S.' second million-selling digital album, the fastest set to do so, and the first by a woman to achieve the feat. "Recovery's" digital sales now stand at 1,005,000 while "21" is up to 1,017,000. If including physical copies in the mix, their respective totals stand at: 3,943,000 and 2,596,000. (Meanwhile, "21" spends its 20th straight week in the top three of the Billboard 200 -- its entire chart life -- as it holds at No. 2 on the list with 79,000; down 13%.) -- "Burlesque" & Michael Grimm: Two albums make big jumps thanks to TV exposure this week as the "Burlesque" film soundtrack vaults 147-68 (up 67%) and last year's "America's Got Talent" winner Michael Grimm sees his self-titled set zip 182-97. The former benefits from airings of the Cher and Christina Aguilera movie on premium cable networks. Figure that the latter album's gain is owed to buzz from the recent premiere -- and high ratings -- of the show's latest season. "U.S.A." of course spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the chart in 1984 and spun off seven top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. Its first single, "Dancing in the Dark," hit No. 2 and was followed by "Cover Me" (No. 7), the title track (No. 9), "I'm on Fire" (No. 6), "Glory Days" (No. 5), "I'm Goin' Down" (No. 9) and "My Hometown" (No. 6). Chart watchers will likely wonder if Springsteen has had a No. 1 single... He hasn't -- at least as an artist. But as a songwriter, indeed. Manfred Mann Earth Band's took its cover of Springsteen's self-penned 1973 single "Blinded By the Light" all the way to No. 1 in 1977.
