The ‘On the Floor’ singer said that their relationship gave her security during an interview made before they separated.

She told Vanity Fair: “Marc made me feel safe. Is safe good for a marriage? I think it’s one of the biggest compliments you can give; like you want to feel safe. I’m good here. Unsafe would be bad for me.”

The American Idol judge also insisted that she “loves” giving to others but admitted that this can cause her to neglect her own needs.

“As women, we are naturally giving and we take care of others. I love that part of us and I love doing it. We just have this tendency to put ourselves on the back burner.”

Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa for 11 months between 1997 and 1998, before tying the knot with backing dancer Cris Judd in September 2001. Their relationship ended in June 2002 and the pair were officially divorced the following January.
